My Intention as a Yoga Teacher
In case we don’t know each other so well, here is a little introduction to me and my intention as a yoga teacher.
At this point I have been practicing yoga in all forms for 15 years. I have 700 hours of yoga teacher training behind me and I don’t plan to stop learning any time soon! I was trained in the Sivananda lineage and since then I have taken teacher trainings in lots of different things including Vinyasa yoga, pranayama and meditation.
I believe that yoga can be a great tool for healing and getting to know the self better. It is my intention to provide informed and accessible group classes to a diverse range of humans, in a way that is affordable.
I am currently focusing on facilitating trainings and workshops for newer teachers who have just completed a 200hr training or would like to deep dive into all aspects of yoga, not just the physical. I feel that most 200hr yoga teacher trainings do not give students the time to really understand how powerful yoga can be, and how we are responsible for using our teachings for good.
I am also working on building an online yoga studio which will allow access to group classes, workshops and other learning resources. This will be available in Spring/Summer 2021.
When not working, I am currently consuming everything I can that looks at social justice, inclusivity and diversity.
